The Skinniest House in Alexandria

April 27, 2007

At seven feet wide, this house on Queen Street is the skinniest in Alexandria. It was originally built in 1830 as a spite house: a dwelling constructed to block bothersome traffic through an alleyway.

The home, which has two stories and boasts a 345 foot living space, was bought for $135,000 in 1990.

There’s an article about it in the Washington Post here.
