Dave had initially offered to pay me a small fee for taking some photographs around Alexandria for him, but I was holding out for the big bucks. No, I’m totally kidding. I wouldn’t even consider the thought of accepting payment, as to me the fun of meeting someone in person because of my blog was enough. So he invited me to lunch with him and his lovely wife Diane, and I accepted. We had a great time. Dave and Diane are some of the most gracious and charming people you could ever hope to meet. It was a pleasure to meet and spend time with them.
The Alexandria Times interviewed Dave during his visit to Alexandria, also. They are doing a story about him returning to his boyhood home and his solder’s reunion, scheduled to be published today.
Update: the story can now be found here.
Marie, It was wonderful going on the tour with you and your new friends. Give us the url of the newspaper article so we also can read it. I am so impressed that blogging for yuu resulted in this new relationship. PS. Always hold out for the big bucks!!
I loved catching up with your visits with Dave. best wishes to you, Dave and Diane! (Did Diane take this pic?)
Kate, I didn’t see the article in today’s Alex Times. Once I find it, I’ll update this post with the direct link.
Sally, this is Dave and Diane. I took the pic! 🙂
