I really like this light fixture. The house number is pretty nice, too.

Yesterday I met someone very special because of this blog. Dave lives in North Carolina but grew up on the gritty streets of Alexandria in the 1930s when most of the houses in Old Town were dilapidated and the area was considered disreputable.

He emailed me a few weeks ago when he discovered this blog to tell me that he really enjoyed seeing the pictures of the town that he grew up in. He also told me he was coming to town in April and had a proposition for me, one of the nicest propositions I’ve had in a long time.
