Well, what do you know. The old icehouse that I posted about on November 15 has gone into rehab! Apparently the owner started to do an intervention but isn’t following the 12-step program properly. That orange sign on the door is a stop work order.
It turns out that when the plywood was being removed from the front of the building, the canopy fell off. As this is listed as a historic property and the work had been done without the proper permits, city officials are doing an intervention of their own. You can read about it in the Alexandria Times and also on the Parker-Gray Growl.
I’ll be watching, camera ready, to see what happens next.
Interesting intervention. Great old door.
Interesting. Keep us informed.
Very interesting story, I love the building. Looking fwd to discovering what happens next.
