“Hey, isn’t that Old Yeller over there? Who’s that bitch he’s with?”
Dogs have as much fun gossiping as their owners do at the Yappy Hour. The Old Town Holiday Inn hosts the Yappy Hour Tuesday and Thursday evenings in their courtyard from May to October.

Great fun and fun fotos! After visiting other countries, I always thought ours was so restrictive when it comes to animals. Nothing wrong with dogs at dinner!! Even better at cocktail hour!
It’s nice to see dogs sitting and enjoying a little evening social hour. When I traveled in Europe a couple of years ago it was fairly common to see dogs with their ownders, in restaurants, in stores, etc. It’s starting to happen here in the mid-south now and I like it.
Hmmm, I’m probably going to be the only voice for no dogs in restaurants (assistance animals excepted of course). Sidewalk cafes, okay I guess, but when it comes to inside restaurants, I’d rather see only two-legged clients. If dogs, why not cats? If cats, why not guinea pigs? If not guinea picgs … well, you get the picture.
Kate, Annie, it is fun for both the dog lovers and the dogs. I’d far prefer having a well-behaved dog under a restaurant table near me rather than a screaming or hyperactive kid.
Anne, they really were cute. All kinds and all sizes.
Passante, this event is not in a restaurant. It’s outside in the courtyard, where they can hose the place down afterwards. Cocktails and finger food only. Patrons who don’t want to be around dogs can go inside — to the restaurant. Everybody wins.
Yes, I could see that it’s outside. A couple of the comments seemed to be in favor of dogs in restaurants, and I was just putting in my two cents’ worth on that idea.
Great photo and thanks for the info about The Old Town Holiday Inn’s “Yappy Hour”. We’ll have to stop by for a “dogtail” some time.

She's passionate about Italy and knows how to wring the gusto out of every minute. Beautiful photos of Italy and an interesting travelogue at Melinda Trips.
