Carol of Chattanooga DP did a post on doggie day care last week. Well, here’s a doggie business that I hadn’t heard of outside of Alexandria. How have I managed not to notice this place before? Paul Bradley, the friendly owner of Old Town Doggie Wash, told me there had been a dumpster parked in front of the sign for a long time. The Doggie Wash, which has been in business for two years, is off Duke Street near the animal hospital.
Why would dog owners bring their dogs to be washed here instead of doing it at home in the sink or the bathtub? Paul showed me. I’ll show you tomorrow.
Oh the sign is soo cute! A doggie wash…hmmm I don’t think we have that here yet…i’ll drop by tomorrow and see if I can open one here in Manila 🙂
I live not far from there and I’ve never seen the sign either.
Actually making a mess there sounds much more appealing than making that mess at home!
Do they groom the dogs too? We have dog groomers here and I assume they also bathe the dogs but I haven;’t seen any doggie washes like this!
Anne, it is a cute sign!
Passante, it’s very easy to miss.
Helen, that’s it exactly! Plus they’re all set up for it, so it takes less time.
Carol, it’s a do-it-yourself place. There’s a grooming table where the owners can blow dry and comb the dogs after the wash. The place is too small to have an onsite groomer.
Thank you all for visiting! More about the Doggie Wash tomorrow!
