Any idea why the design is there?
Isn’t it great how we DP bloggers now notice things we might not have otherwise?
Nice detail, well spotted.
Natalie, I haven’t been able to find any information about designs on chimneys anywhere. Haven’t noticed any others around town yet, either, so it’s not a regional thing. I did finally discover late yesterday afternoon the name of the design itself: trefoil cross.
Carol & Neorelix, it’s very satisfying, especially as a photographer to discover these little gems. It’s like being on a treasure hunt, and our reward is an interesting, unusual and/or sometimes beautiful shot.
I wonder if the Alexandria Historical Society could help: http://www.alexandriahistorical.org/.
yeah, everyday its a new discovery 🙂
