When I saw these at the Saturday market, it was all I could do to keep from grabbing a handful and shoving them in my mouth, stems and all.
Today I welcome Passante as a team member to Alexandria Daily Photo. Although she does Picturing Washington, a Washington DC metro area photoblog, I just discovered yesterday that we not only both live in Alexandria but even in the same neighborhood! So Passante was “picked” Friday, too!
thinking of strawberry triffle ..mmm..throw me some!
STAWBERRIES!!! my favorite fruit yum yum – we used to grow this at my moms jhouse!
Those look delicious! Taken at the supermarket, or at a farmer’s market?
Look delicious!
I’m allergic to many types of fruits, thankfully strawberries is not one of them. Love the photo
Looks yummy. I like to soak them in a little bit of balsamic vinegar and pepper and eat with vanilla ice cream. Sounds strange, but is very tasty.
Kris, yum, send me the recipe!
Kala, we used to grow them at home when I was a child, too. They were smaller, less tough and sweeter than what is grown now.
Sarah, the shot was taken at the weekly Saturday farmer’s market in front of city hall.
Seesaw, can you believe it? I was so focused on taking pictures, I didn’t even buy any!!! :0
Slinger, glad you’re able to enjoy the real thing!
Felicia, wow that is the most interesting thing I’ve ever heard done with strawberries. Sweet and sour can be good, but I think I’ll stick to crushing them with sugar and cream and pouring over shortcake!
