A corner grocery store in the Parker Gray neighborhood. I have a corner grocery store in my neighborhood, too. It’s called 7-11. All the corner grocery stores in the West End are called that.

This building looks like it might have started out as a movie theater, but it’s now a church in the Parker Gray neighborhood.

Unfortunately, Denton of Greenville Daily Photo is out of town and Pauline and I are heading back to Tennessee today, so I won’t have a chance to meet Denton this time.

I’m heading for Tennessee today in the trusty Subaru to spend a few days visiting a friend. She wants to look at some retirement communities in Greenville, NC, home of Denton and his world famous Greenville Daily Photo. (I love that I can say that without any exaggeration whatsoever!) So we’ll spend a couple of days in Greenville, too. I’ll be back in a week.

Usually I hate newspaper stands in a picture, since they’re often just plain ugly, and I’ll try any number of angles to avoid having them in my shot. But I thought these particular news boxes added a little zip to the image.
